Friends of York Art Gallery

Events

We have three types of event:

Lunchtime Talks

These take place at the Art Gallery most Wednesdays at 12.30p.m. from June to October, and on the first Wednesday in every month at 12.30p.m. during the winter.  Speakers are drawn from volunteers who are happy to talk informally for half-an-hour about a picture or pictures of their choice from the collection or paintings in the current exhibition.

Exhibition previews

Friends are invited to exhibition previews – normally the evening prior to the official opening. Apart from viewing the new works, this is a very social occasion with opportunity to meet other Friends, speakers and artists, members of the Committee and the Art Gallery staff
