This exhibition brings together many of Rembrandt’s works with historical links to Britain such as ‘The Mill’ from Washington DC. ‘The Man in the Oriental Costume’ from Chatsworth and ‘Belshazzar’s Feast’ from The National Gallery, London. Etchings are well represented and there are examples of the Master’s influence on modern British artists.
In the afternoon you may wish to visit the exhibition of portraits by Victoria Crowe which is at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
This visit excludes transport. Advance booking for the rail fare is recommended! Trains leave York around 08:30 am to arrive in time for the 10 – 15 minute walk from Waverley Railway Station to the National Gallery. Our tour starts at 11:30 am. The cost: £13.50 per person (entrance fee and tour).
