We travel by coach to the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Birmingham for tea/coffee and biscuits before an introductory talk by a Curatorial team member. There will be about one and a half hours to explore the collection followed by a light lunch before we resume the trip to Bath. On arrival we will visit the Museum of Bath Architecture to learn about the founding and building of the city. We then check in to the nearby Abbey Hotel and later enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.On day two we will visit No. 1 Royal Crescent, the restored 18th century home of Henry Sandford which is furnished to illustrate his late 18th century lifestyle. We then travel to the Holburne Museum, lunch in their Garden Cafe and then enjoy this delightful Gallery at a leisurely pace. Later that day we will visit Victoria Art Gallery to view their permanent collection, and then walk on to the Assembly Rooms (if open) and the Costume Museum. Participants are free to make their own dinner arrangements on this evening (recommendations list available). On our third day we will visit the Roman Baths which are located near the hotel. Departure to York is scheduled for 11 am with a stop at Packwood House, Warwickshire, to visit the garden and enjoy a lunch, arriving in York at about 8 pm.
