Peter Gibbard will be speaking about Auguste Herbin (1882-1960) who is represented in the York Art Gallery collection by ‘Arum Lilies’ (circa 1907). His works first showed influences of Post-Impressionism and then he moved towards Fauvism, Cubism and total abstraction. A native of Quievy in the North of France, his works can be found in the UK in The Tate, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Walker Gallery and York!
