Per Rumberg, one of the Curators at the forthcomng exhibition at the Royal Academy will discuss how a renewed interest in ancient Greek and roman art in the 15th and 16th centuries encouraged artists of the time to depict the human body in a new and more profound way, thus establishing a tradition that became central to European Art.
Tickets £20 to include a wine and canape reception in the Yorkshire Museum at 6:30 pm, followed by the lcture in the adjacent Tempest Anderson Hall at 7:00 pm. Make cheques payable to York and East Yorkshire Art Fund and enclose a SAE. Send to:
