The Next Classics: a Gallery Preview
This is a Friends’ private view of ‘The Next Classics : classic materials, techniques and inspiration in sculpture today’, a selling exhibition at Sliding Water Gallery, of sculpture – in various materials – drawings and prints, exploring the work of seven of the most exciting sculptors working in York and North Yorkshire. These include Harold Gosney, Johnny Sunter and Rory Menage. There will be some wonderful pieces to admire. Central to the show will be a selection of work by Harold Gosney, following on from his recent retrospective at York Art Gallery. All proceeds from the sale of his work will go to the Friends of York Art Gallery funds.
This is an opportunity for Friends to see the show in a Private View when artists will be in attendance to discuss their practice. Refreshments will be generously provided by the gallery. This event is FREE to all members but booking is essential.
