The Friends help to fund new acquisitions for the Gallery collection, contribute towards conservation costs and promote an appreciation of the fine arts in the York area. Members receive the following benefits:
- Free entry to the Gallery
- Access to our Events Programme, featuring lectures, gallery visits, social events and trips away. We also organise talks by specialists in the Gallery’s collection (scholars, private researchers, and curators).
- 10% discount in the Gallery shop (excluding ceramics) and cafe.
- Free borrowing entitlements at the University of York library (normally costing over £100) can be applied for.
Annual subscriptions are:
- £20 Single member (Direct Debit)
- £30 Two people at the same address (Direct Debit)
- £3 surcharge if paying by card or cheque,
Subscriptions are renewed at the beginning of each calendar year, and payment is due on 1st January. New members joining towards the end of the year receive the following discount:
- September 25% discount
- October 50% discount
- November 75% discount
- December 13 months membership
